This project involved me taking on many roles: interviewer, journalist, editor, copywriter, and designer. Following interviews with graphic designers Elizabeth Goodspeed (founder of the Casual Archivist) and Erica Dorn (two-time Wes Anderson collaborator), I was tasked with producing and editing copy content and designing a cohesive editorial system.

This project involved a deep reading of my chosen text and a long period of ideation which revolved around connecting the typesetting of the book to relate to the content. With spot color risograph images and laser printed text and b/w imagery, the book was definitely a challenge to produce.

Pulling inspiration from Colson Whitehead’s excellent body of work, this series of book covers six to explore a visual system which can at once be individually unique, and also systematic and fairly uniform.
