Centered around Jenny Odell's essay "On How to Grow an Idea," this project explores how typographic treatment can authentically mirror the essence of a given text. Building upon Odell's profound insights, the project aimed to encapsulate the art of nurturing ideas and translating them into visually resonant experiences. By intricately weaving typesetting with the core message of the essay, the design harmonized seamlessly with the wisdom it conveyed.

The Wide Eyes Film Festival serves as an imaginative tribute to the art of wide-format filmmaking. Within this conceptual realm, the brand identity and logo have been meticulously crafted to embody reflexive frames, dynamically responding to the unique contexts and containers they inhabit. This thoughtful design approach not only encapsulates the essence of the festival but also echoes the very essence of wide-format cinema, creating a harmonious synergy between form and content.

After initial projects establishing the 'why' and 'how' of pattern design for digital fabrics, I undertook an independent study. This self-guided exploration involved traditional techniques like drawing, painting, collage, and photography, which informed digital experiments on platforms like Photoshop.

In this project, I assumed a variety of roles: interviewer, journalist, editor, copywriter, and designer. Following interviews with graphic designers Elizabeth Goodspeed (founder of the Casual Archivist) and Erica Dorn (a longtime collaborator with Wes Anderson), I undertook the task of generating, refining, and crafting a unified editorial system.

This  branding project explores a new brand identity for the Houdini Museum. The design pays homage to Houdini's iconic style and performance art, while capturing the museum's mission to educate and inspire visitors. The final result is a versatile and cohesive brand identity that includes a new logo, typography, color palette, and visual language.

Following a period of research and looking into the brand's history and philosophy, the goal of this project was to create a subbrand which remained separate from MillerKnoll but felt coordinated with the main brand. The goal of this rebrand’s identity was to remain flexible while also feeling cohesive.

Witch Way Farm, nestled in Essex, Connecticut, inspired a rustic and sophisticated brand identity. Conversations with hosts and guests led to a simple farm illustration and a nature-inspired color palette. Rooted in the farm's early 20th-century heritage, this branding echoes its rich history, drawing from a landscape steeped in generational change.

This typeface is inspired by Haruki Murakami's novel "Wind-Up Bird Chronicles." My journey began by immersing myself in the novel's intricate storytelling, enigmatic characters, and mysterious atmospheres. Drawing inspiration from its essence, I envisioned a font that encapsulated the novel's unique personality and core themes. Through meticulous design exploration and iterative refinement, I crafted letterforms that resonated with the novel's spirit, making the font a visual bridge between literature and design. .

As a designer for the largest student film in the world, I played a critical role in the creation of high-quality promotional content for the festival's events. Working as part of a student-run design team, I contributed to the development of a range of materials, including posters, merchandise, social media graphics, and other visual assets.

Pulling from the posthuman philosophy that seeks to explore the world 
from the perspective of non-human organisms, this installation looks to investigate firefly communication through and interactive installation and subsequent branding.

This experimental short animation uses multiplane layers in After Effects to create a parallax effect. It depicts a quiet, sleepy town at night, with the camera moving through the streets to showcase illuminated buildings and objects. The animation captures the peaceful and dreamy atmosphere of a small town at night while demonstrating creative techniques in After Effects.

After identifying noise and soundscape composition as something which interested me, I developed two short motion pieces which attempted to explore these topics. This project involved a good deal of research regarding sound as a medium as well as establishing a concrete visual aesthetic .






MAPPING THE PROVIDENCE ARCADE

Following an intensive observation period of the oldest arcade in the US, this project sought to explore various modes of graphic representation. Recorded charcoal rubbings, foot traffic, and auditory data are combined in a cohesive package.

This project was the culmination of a Silkscreen printing workshop. Attempting to use a wide range of techniques learned in class, I explored photographic printing as well as metallic finish ink.

This poster was the result of modeling, material, and lighting explorations in Cinema 4D. With the 3-D renders modeled in the program, I then composited them, inserted them into an Indesign document, and finished with color correction in Photoshop.
